Mortgage Choice in the community
Our franchisees and staff help out in the community whenever we can. Below are some recent activities.
Ronald McDonald House Charities
In October 2011 Mortgage Choice officially announced a corporate sponsorship for Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC).
As one of Australia’s most recognised non-profit organisations, RMHC has been helping to improve the lives of seriously ill children and their families since 1981. It's an extremely worthy cause and Mortgage Choice is thrilled to form a close relationship with this much valued not-for-profit organistaion.
Mortgage Choice will now donate from commissions received for every home loan settled, backdating this to 1 July 2011.
Staff and franchisees have also jumped on board to show support by making a voluntary contribution from each pay packet or loan settled and by volunteering time at RMHC events across the country.
In addition, regular fundraising morning and afternoon teas will be held and the annual Mortgage Choice National Conference will feature a fundraising night where all proceeds go to RMHC.
Cancer Council NSW

To help those affected by cancer who are thinking of returning to the workforce Mortgage Choice has partnered with the Cancer Council NSW to run a series of free ‘Working Beyond Cancer’ workshops. The half-day events help educate those who are keen to return to their job yet are unsure of their rights or how to deal with the transition back into employment. The workshops are open to cancer patients, survivors, carers, employers and colleagues.
Flood Relief
Mortgage Choice franchise owner from Ipswich, Nick Cook, and his staff put in an impressive amount of effort during the floods in the summer of 2010/2011. Nick and his team worked around the clock during this period to ensure their customers received as much help as possible in sorting out their home loan and insurance situation. They also put on a family-friendly night of dinner and drinks to help lift the spirits of our numerous flood-affected customers and as a thank you to those who had lent a hand.

At the beginning of 2011 we established a fund to help provide financial support to the Queensland and Northern NSW flood victims. Donations from the company, our staff and our franchise network were sent to the Premier's Flood Relief Appeal as a collective payment of $13,072 at the end of February.
In addition, our Queensland State Manager coordinated teams of franchise network members and staff to go into the damaged areas and help with the cleanup effort.
