Professional development program

Overview

Mortgage Choice has developed a Business Development Program that provides a range of forums and activities to help develop the skills of the franchise network and provide added value to our lender partners. The program provides the opportunity for our lender partners to sponsor and participate in a program of activities of their choosing.

Program inclusions

The 2008/2009 Professional Development Program comprises the following events:

  • Mortgage Choice National Conference
  • Business Excellence Awards Program
  • State Conferences
  • Lending Workshops
  • Other State Events

General guidelines

  • As with any professional development program, professional development points will accrue to each broker that participates in the activities above, excluding the state events.
  • Participation by members of the lender panel in the program is both optional and discretionary.
  • Lenders are able to customise the program of activities in which they will participate and will therefore be able to choose the level of sponsorship provided.
  • All lenders on the panel have access to the franchise network on a one-on-one basis through the normal course of business, however, lenders are required to notify Mortgage Choice of any activities involving groups of Mortgage Choice brokers.
  • Lenders must not offer franchisees or their staff any sales incentives.
  • Lenders are requested to disclose any alternative forms of remuneration above $500 in value that they have provided, per transaction or item, per broker.
  • Franchise owners are not permitted to seek sponsorship funds or ‘soft dollars’ from lenders.
  • The Program is also disclosed in the Mortgage Choice Customer Charter.
