We make buying your first home simple
Why?
Because we have helped thousands of first time buyers make their first home a reality.
There’s so much to think about when buying your first home – from how much you can afford, to what type of property you want and where, to working out how you can fit all those extra appointments you’ll need to make into your busy day. Contacting us is an excellent first step.
Our specialist Mortgage Choice brokers can make it simple for you by:
- helping you choose a suitable home loan from almost 400 different loan products from our wide panel of lenders
- completing all the necessary documentation for you
- running you through all the other costs involved like stamp duty, conveyancing fees and bank fees
- helping you apply for the First Home Buyer’s Grant if you are eligible
When you first meet with your local Mortgage Choice broker you’ll be asked a number of questions about your financial position. It’s best to bring as much information as you can to this first meeting - like a copy of your pay slip, bank statements as proof of saving, your tax file number, your driver’s licence and tax returns.
Then your broker will use our unique Loan Qualifier software to evaluate which loan is the most suitable for you from the lenders on our panel. They’ll look at things like monthly repayments, interest rates, value added features like redraw facilities and how much you can borrow from each lender. The whole process takes about an hour or so.
After that your broker will complete all the necessary forms for approval by the lender and you’re off and running.
And if you haven’t yet found the home of your dreams, you can get pre-approval from your broker so you’ll have the peace of mind of knowing exactly how much you can borrow. You could also speak to your broker about your eligibility for the Government's new First Home Saver Accounts scheme which could help boost your savings for that first home deposit. And in today’s competitive housing market, you’ll have a head start on other purchasers.
