A charity run hosted by Mortgage Choice franchisees and staff members has helped to raise thousands of dollars for sick children.

Last week, Mortgage Choice staff joined forces with some of the brokerage's franchisees to host a charity run in a bid to raise much needed funds for the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

The 3km run, which attracted more than 100 participants from the financial services industry, managed to generate more than $10,000 for the charity.

One of the event organisers, Mortgage Choice Victorian state manager Max Billi, said it was nice to bring members of the financial services industry together for a bit of competitive exercise and to help raise money for a good cause.

“All in all the Mortgage Choice Charity run event raised $11,700 for Ronald McDonald House Charities, which was an outstanding achievement,” he said.

“We have been hosting the charity run for the past four years and this is the most money we have raised to date. Moving forward, we hope to raise even more money next year for this incredibly special charity.

“Ronald McDonald House Charities is a charity that sits close to all of our hearts, so being able to contribute in some way to this great cause is deeply humbling. Ronald McDonald House Charities provides an excellent service for many families right across Australia and they really need all the help they can get.”

Mortgage Choice has been actively supporting and raising money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities since 2011 – during which time the business has raised more than $300,000 for the organisation.

“In addition to the charity run, we also host several other events each year to raise money for this important cause. As we head further into 2015, we are optimistic that we can double our current fundraising efforts for this wonderful charity,” Mr Billi said.
