If you’re looking to sell your home in today’s tough market or to simply improve your properties value, you don’t need an expensive renovation to make your home the most attractive on the street. Simple, inexpensive changes to the appearance of your home. Most of which you can tackle on the weekends will greatly improve your properties overall value.
Refresh with Paint - A fresh coat of paint can do wonders for your home. Not only will if give your home an instant facelift, but choosing lighter, glossier colours can also add a feeling of space. Opt for neutral colours with wide market appeal such as off white, taupe or mushroom.
Kitchen - Upgrading an entire kitchen can be expensive! There are however smaller renovations you can do. For example replace existing taps, resurface dated benchtops and update handles with modern versions.
Bathroom - Add instant space to a small bathroom by adding a mirror to an entire wall. Update frosted glass with clear glass, clean the grout, and remove rust stains. Update tapware and showerhead to modernise the room.
Lighting - Brightness in the home will create the presence of a happy home. Homes without any brightness gives a dark and dreary ambiance. Upgrade old incandescent light bulbs with LED bulbs.
Flooring - Getting carpets cleaned can make a huge difference to the look (and smell) of a home. Calling in the professionals is well worth considering. It should be noted that no amount of cleaning is going to lift a floor covering beyond its use-by-date so it may be time to replace what you’ve got.
Gardens and Lawn - Landscaping is important. Ensure that gardens and lawn is well maintained and presentable. Tangled trees and unkempt shrubs can obscure views, darken interiors, promote mould and block a good view to a house.
