Get your finances in order this
New Year!

A New Year is here, and with it comes the opportunity to get your finances in order.
If you're anything like us here at Mortgage Choice Wynnum, you may have already made a New Year's resolution to eat healthier and exercise more often. Why not whip your finances into shape as well?
Kayla has joined our team to help our clients with investing, superannuation and income protection/life insurance reviews. She enjoys working with you one on one to help you reach your financial goals.
Here are some tips to get your finances in order this year:

Avoid unnecessary extras and costs.  Evaluate your outgoings and identify any unnecessary costs which you can down or cut out. We have a great budget template that can break it down to a monthly cycle so planning your finances isn't so daunting.
Make use of your offset account.  Some home loans offer an offset account which allow you to offset the amount of interest you pay on your loan. This can be a great place to direct your savings to build up a reserve rather than having a separate savings account.
Pay off and cancel your credit card.  Credit card interest rates are notoriously high. Debit cards are an ideal alternative, providing a similar level of protection for online purchases without the significant interest rates.
Compare to find a better deal.  You may be paying more than necessary on your home loan, utilities, insurance bills etc. Comparing your options with George, Michelle or Kayla who can help you find the best deal suited to your needs.

2014 at a glance..

As we say goodbye to 2014, we thought we would take a moment to recap on the major events that occurred in 2014 for Mortgage Choice Wynnum. It was a successful year with George and the team helping many clients with their search to find a new home, investment property and other various finance solutions. In March Michelle joined the team. After working for some of Australia's leading financial institutions, Michelle made the decision to join Mortgage Choice and hasn't looked back.In November we moved into our new offices at Suite 2, 70 Edith Street. The move put us in the same area as the other banks and lending institutions. The move went smoothly and we are now settled in our new office ready to service all your financial needs.

Interest Rates
The Reserve Bank of Australia has cut the cash rate for the first time in 18 months, taking the official rate to the historical low of 2.25 per cent.
At its Board meeting, the Reserve Bank announced it would cut 25 basis points off the already low official cash rate.
Last month’s disappointing consumer sentiment result combined with a recent spate of poor economic data ultimately forced the RBA to take action and cut the cash rate.
