Currently an advantage to the grant is that if you purchase a new home or construct a home you could be eligible for $10,000 plus the stamp duty waived if the cost of the property is up to $500,000 and subsidised up to $750,000 purchase price, if below the 26th Parallel

If you are purchasing an established home the grant is $3000 with the same amount of stamp duty waived or subsidised.

If you are purchasing above the 26th Parallel the stamp duty is subsidized up to $1,000,000.

With the current interest rates remaining steady now is a good time for first home buyers to enter the market.  More lenders are now lending 95% of the property value giving you more choice of which lender you would like to use.
