“When arranging finance, it’s vital to ensure the loan options meet each clients’ unique objectives and requirements, and that the selected lender is a good fit for them,” Ian explains. “I always take the time to share useful knowledge and experiences with my clients and have a lot of patience when working with anyone who may be unsure about their finance journey.
“For me, providing great service is about being able to listen to a client’s concerns and questions, being empathetic to any situation or difficulty, and understanding the importance of confidentiality.”
Ian takes the time to ensure that loan options meet each client's unique objectives and requirements, and he maintains close communication with his clients throughout the borrowing journey. With excellent problem-solving skills and established relationships with many lenders, Ian can push for approvals, even with 'out-of-the-box' scenarios.
Ian is the resident expert in Self-Managed Super Fund (SMSF) home loans, fully accredited with multiple lenders and up-to-date with ever-changing requirements. He offers not just expertise and guidance, but an understanding, client-focused approach that prioritises listening to client concerns and maintaining confidentiality.
Perhaps most importantly, Ian maintains close communication with his clients at every stage of their borrowing journey. “I do not believe being a mortgage broker is a 9 to 5 job – my phone is always on!” he says. “I am always on-call to answer questions clients may have, and I keep them updated on progress of their application, even when there is no progress!”
Ian’s finance career dates back to 2007, when he commenced personal lending with a major bank, then in vehicle finance for major car dealerships, before completing his financial accreditations and licenses as a mortgage broker in 2012 when he started his first mortgage broking business on the Central Coast. He specialises in assisting with home loans, investment loans, SMSF lending, refinancing and debt consolidation strategies. Most recently, Ian was awarded the Marketing Excellence Award at the 2023 Mortgage Choice National Conference and was selected to attend the Mortgage Choice High Performance Summit in Auckland.
Ian is a long term resident of the Central Coast and has lived in the area for decades. When not serving his customers, Ian spends his time enjoying live music, going to the gym, being a single dad to two young kids, and watching motorsports and his beloved Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (sorry, not sorry!).
