It's Global Money Week! This year's focus is “Helping children and teenagers start the journey to a better chance at financial security.” For some ideas, take a look at my previous blog Six ways to talk to your kids about money (the earlier the better).
We can all take actions to improve our financial wealth and knowledge, whether it's
- something simple, like choosing home cooking over takeway, or
- more significant such as calling your "annual renewables" (eg insurances, telecomms, energy providers) every year to ask "before I call around, is this definitely the best price you can give me?" ( I always get a reduction this way), or
- the big one: an annual review of what is likely to be your household's largest expense - your mortgage. My clients know to call me if ever they want to discuss.
Personally, I'm a great believer in goal-setting (eg a a twice-yearly full review of your finances) - which includes reviewing performance against those goals, to lock in any learnings (good or bad!).
If you're looking for a more in-depth review of your financial wealth and goals, please give Patrick Jong our Oakleigh FInancial Planner a call on Ph 0402 643 893.
