RBA holds - again - at 1.5%

The RBA has just announced that the cash rate will stay at 1.5%.  This rate, in effect since August 2016, remains the lowest rate in the RBA's history.  So it's calm waters for now.

See the full Reserve Bank statement for full details. Unless there's another global shock, we must surely be at the bottom of this interest rate cycle now.  The analysts expect slight interest rate rises in 2017.  My view is that if there are any increases, they would be later in the year and minimal.
