Instead of trolling the hardware stores looking for ideas, there are some great apps that you can get right at your fingertips that help make your renovations a touch easier!
Houzz Interior Design Ideas – packed with 5 million hi resolution images of interior design projects, this app gives you a great starting point to put some ideas together for your next home improvements. The best part? It’s free.
Dwell– Need more inspiration? You’ll find it here. Dwell is a US magazine with a focus on innovative interiors, exteriors, and furniture, so you’ll find plenty of ideas on building, renovating and fitting out your home. Cost: free.
MagicPlan – This is a truly exceptional app that lets you measure rooms and create floor plans simply from photos you’ve taken of your home. Be sure to check out the tutorial to make the most of this app’s handy features. Cost: free
Home Builder Pro Calcs – when you’re ready to start measuring and cutting materials this app is really going to pay for itself. It features a range of calculations to take the guesswork out of your renovations and help you build like a tradie. Cost: $6.49
iHandy Carpenter – like the name says, this app is very handy. Featuring five tools including a ruler, protractor and surface level to help you achieve a professional finish. Use it to check that floors, benchtops and walls are level without having to lug around heavy gear. Cost: $1.99
ColorChange– you’ve designed, measured, hammered, nailed and primed. Now you’re ready to paint, and the ColorChange app is going to make it so much easy to choose exactly the right shade for your home. Just take a photo of a room and use the app to see how it might look in your preferred shade without the hassle and expense of test pots. Brilliant! Cost: $0.99.
