On Thursday night our Principal, Tyson Lewis, had the honour of cooking dinner down at Ronald McDonald House in Subiaco.
Tyson, along with 4 other Mortgage Choice franchisee’s and the Mortgage Choice State Office staff were invited to do up a menu, prepare and cook dinner and clean up for over 60 guests at the house.
Ronald McDonald House provides a home away from home for seriously ill children and their families, who need tremendous support when essential treatment is being administered.
Since October 2011 Mortgage Choice has been in a corporate partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities and to date has raised over $330,000 for RMHC.
Being able to go down to Ronald McDonald House and meet with some of the incredibly brave and inspirational kids was an amazing experience and chatting with some of the mums and dads who have spent more time at the house rather than home was very humbling.
Tyson said “We were able to cook the final dinner for one family who were heading home tomorrow morning; they had been at the Ronald McDonald house for the past 426 days while their child received treatment, and were now taking a healthy child home”.
He also said “The maturity and humour the kids showed was amazing and it was an honour and pleasure to cook for them and their families”.
“We have supported the RMHC for a few years now and will continue to do so. The fantastic staff and great facilities are a big help for families during tough times and being able to do our little bit was a great experience. I hope they will have us back soon to cook again”.
