- Deposit and incentives: There are lots of incentives available from the state and federal Governments, designed to help you buy your first home faster. I'll go through them with you and how much deposit you will need to get there.
How much deposit do I need?
In the past, you may have heard that banks require a 20% deposit to approve a home loan. While a bigger deposit can certainly save you some fees, it's no longer a must-have. With various Government schemes, like the First Home Guarantee or the Regional Home Guarantee, you can now buy with as little as 5% and still avoid paying Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI). I'll talk you through the eligibility for each incentives and cover other strategies, like using a Guarantor Loan.
