Jordan Springs, located approximately 47 km west of Sydney in New South Wales, Australia, is a relatively new suburb in the Penrith area. It officially became a registered suburb in August 2011. Originally known as Jordan Hill, the area has a rich history that dates back to the early 1800s when it was primarily used for farming.

In 1941, the Commonwealth Government acquired 700 acres of land to establish the St Marys Defence Site. Subsequently, an additional 500 acres were taken in 1955. A factory was built on this land for the production and storage of munitions, and it remained in operation until 1993. Following the closure of the factory, ADI Ltd initiated the redevelopment of the site into a residential area. In 2004, the Commonwealth Government sold the land to Lend Lease, paving the way for the construction of 4,800 houses.

To the east of Jordan Springs lies the Wianamatta Regional Park, spanning an expansive 900 hectares. This park is home to one of the last remaining Cumberland Plain Woodlands, a critically endangered ecological community protected under the Threatened Species Conservation Act. Within the park, a population of kangaroos and emus can also be found, adding to the natural beauty and diversity of the area.
