We have engaged Gavin Lesnie on 3 separate mortgages now, our own and for Investment Purposes. Gavin is always on point, very knowledgeable and extremely diligent. We scored 7 on the Expectations question, simply because we hoped the banks would lend us more, but now understand that currently all loans are based on Serviceability, and equity on other properties doesn't really come into it.
We have recommended Gavin and the team to several of our friends.

The approval process took too long, resulting in us having to make an offer before finance was approved. This may not have been the fault of the advisor (in fact, most unlikely), but the lack of clear advice concerning the status of our application made the process more stressful than it should have been. We have used Gavin Lesnie and number of times and are likely to do so again, despite our experience this time around, mainly because everything did work out satisfactorily in the end.
Gavin went over and above all expectations - I would recommend him to anyone. His entire team were professional and communicative the entire process.
I have used Gavin Lesnie to obtain home loans for me several times now. This was especially difficult when I was self employed but he always managed to get a great result for me when many others found it impossible.
While there are many online tools for loan evaluation these days, the real benefit I was most appreciative of was the loan documentation, approval and execution process which went very seamlessly and efficiently. This part Gavin and his team handled very well and very professionally.

On receiving all my information 22/12/2016 I had an approval the day after they returned from leave (early Jan). keeping in mind xmas / ny etc but all up I would say 4 days max.
Documents were received 2 days after approval and settled 2 days after my documents were returned

This is the second time Gavin has assisted me with a loan. This time it was not straight forward with refinancing existing loans as well as taking up a new one. Having the personalised service and long history of experience Gavin offers is invaluable. And costs you nothing - Its a no brainer.

Gavin was immediately responsive, informative and proactive. The process was made easier with his experience and I would use him again. The only issue that I experienced was in relation to a lack of response to requests for assistance from another member during Gavin's annual leave. This was rectified however as soon as I committed to writing.

He went beyond the call of duty on so many occasions and negotiated with Suncorp to have our mortgage insurance cost placed on top of the loan rather than payable at settlement. I appreciated the regular contact throughout the process, but I felt we were being lead specifically to St George - we got a good rate from them, but thought it seemed a little weighted to SG? Also couldn't understand why we were told to leave the mark that said we weren't first time home buyers? This said, I would and have, recommended Smartline to friends.

The loans process was very tight with Christmas fast approaching Greg & the team pulled out all stops to ensure loans were ready for exchange, they also worked thru part of their Christmas party. Their attitude to complete the task for me was overwhelming!

Greg always goes above and beyond to help us whenever we need assistance. There are plenty of companies offering various products but it is the customer service that keeps us coming back to smart line.
Please can I also note Gavin Lesnie. Both guys have provided EXCEPTIONAL service and knowledge of their products. I have recommended others including a Buyers Agent to use their services. We would not refinance or take out a new mortgage without Gavin and Greg's assistance in the future.

When buying our first home, our broker was recommended to us by a friend. We had no previous experience with a broker and were so impressed with the service provided to us. Our broker advised us to ask as many questions as possible, call whenever in doubt and "treat us like your parents" in a sense so that they could support us every step of the way. Both Gavin Lesnie and Greg Wilkinson were fantastic and we could not have been successful with buying our first home without them. As a first time investor I was unsure of some of the processes involved but Greg not only helped me through it but kept the bank on track and sorted out some unusual requests they had. After he had sorted out some issues with the bank he then approached them pointing out their faults in the process and got them to reduce the interest rate! Awsome!
We also worked with Gavin Lesnie who we would also recommend to anyone who wold listen. Both guys did an outstanding job and went above and beyond the call to service us. Very, very highly recommended!
For someone like myself who is so busy with work, I did not have the time to research different banks & loans not to mention make appointments to visit them. Gavin & Greg (Wilkinson) came to visit me once & all was done. They did offer to bring out the loan documents & go through them with me however I just had them mail them as I have a lending background & therefore knew most of the docs would be standard & easy to understand. This service is ideal for someone like myself.
