Originally from Newcastle, I spent over 4 years in Cairns before moving back to Newcastle at the end of 2022. As such I have many clients in both Newcastle and Cairns and I continue to assist them and other people in these regions.

With more than 26 years’ experience in the finance and lending industries, I have the experience and knowledge to help you navigate the lending process to achieve your property goals…and the best thing is that it won’t cost you anything!

You are one of a kind and as such require an individual approach. Everyone’s situation is different and that’s why I’ll take the time to understand yours.

Buying a property, particularly a first home, is a very exciting time, but it can also be daunting and stressful for many people. My aim is to make the process as stress free and hassle free as possible so you can focus on the fun part of buying a property.

Perhaps you’re thinking about renovating or upgrading to a larger family home, maybe you’re buying your first or second or sixth investment property. As a property investor for many years, I enjoy passing on my knowledge and helping my clients structure their finance to achieve this.

Jason Thomson started his banking and finance career in 1986 when he joined the Commonwealth Bank in Innisfail Qld. After working in several branches throughout the state his role in home lending culminated with seven years as a mobile home lending manager.

After exactly 17 years with CBA he resigned to commence his mortgage broker franchise with Smartline in 2004. Throughout his mortgage broking career Jason has helped many hundreds of people achieve their home ownership dreams and built a wealth of knowledge in the often complex world of finance and property.

In 2022 Jason decided to merge his business with his partner and fellow Smartline Adviser Kerrie Morris. Kerrie had been with Smartline for 11 years, and they've been together for over five years working side by side. It made sense to operate as just one entity, and the timing was right as they embarked on the transition to the Mortgage Choice brand and systems.

Whilst Kerrie continues to hold her credit licence under the new Mortgage Choice banner, Jason now works in the business in a customer service, business development, and administration role.

Jason is still available to take enquiries from anyone seeking assistance with finance, so it's business as usual as both Jason and Kerrie work together to help people with whatever finance needs they may have.

Late 2022 Jason and Kerrie relocated from Cairns to Newcastle, however they continue to work with anyone regardless of their location.
