What an amazing experience We linked in with David Thurmond at Mortgage Choice and he made us feel at ease straight away with the whole process of buying a new house It was our very first home so we had no knowledge of anything really He guided us through each step alongside the rest of the team, Julianna, Taylah, and David Lelean who were also there throughout the process helping with the admin side, financials, guidance, updates on settlement. The process from our first meeting to moving in to our new home was within the space of 2 months We were able to take advantage of government grants we would have never been aware of before meeting with David and many more benefits to our loan that we could not have had without their assistance and knowledge. We will be using the Mortgage Choice Berwick branch again, the team has been so extremely helpful, knowledgeable and accommodating. Nothing was too difficult. We originally spoke woth David in regards to our borrowing capacity, we discussed our preferences and what would be best suited to us and our financial situation. Following the meeting David got to work with a list of possible banks to deal with, from that list we chose our preferred bank as we had been dealing with them for a period of time.

A businesses wholesale brand is reflected in the depth of understanding or lack thereof in these things.
I could see very quickly and was relieved that David understood these fundamentals and discerned the gravity of my situation, because his values were reflected in the team. Well organised, everyone played their role professionally and efficiently. Progressive feedback was always given at every juncture and communication was timely and to the point. Also follow up post purchase was great.

I walked into Mortgage Choice Berwick way back in 2017, and was able to sit down with Alston Soff straight away, no need to call ahead or make an appointment. Alston helped explain the finance side of building my first home, and gave me plenty of info and advice that made me feel confident moving forward with building my first home. Starting with no knowledge whatsoever, I walked out feeling like Ive done it a thousand times.
When it came to settlement, on the land and then later on the construction loan, Alston has always been responsive, detail oriented, knowledgeable.
Being a shift worker, Id often need to sort things out, outside of business hours, but this was never a problem for Alston.
Years later when I decided I wanted to buy my next house, this time with my partner, I had no issues going straight back to Alston.
As with all home loan applications, theres always speed humps with the different lenders, but Alston is all over it.
Alston also helped me with a refinance on my first mortgage earlier this year. His product knowledge, and understanding of the different credit policies of the different lenders helped ensure a successful application with my specific individual circumstances.
The Mortgage Choice team was awesome, my initial dealing will David was very professionally and you can tell he has worked in the industry for a long time. The ongoing process with him and his team after was smooth and everything was approved a lot faster than I expected Awesome company and even better team

Where do I start with this team? It all began almost a year ago when we reached out to David to see if we were on the right path of savings for our future home. David was there throughout the entire process telling us the best way to move forward to ensure we had a 20% deposit. When the time finally came around for us to start looking at our future home, we decided we wanted to build. David guided us every step of the way, but unfortunately after some complications with the estate, we decided to step away from the build and buy an established home instead. The process was overwhelming and daunting, and there were many tears along the way, but David and his incredible assistant Jules were always there to rely on and to show us support. Thereafter, a strong customer relationship was built and with every offer we put in, David and Jules were right there ready to help us with our application. With partly casual income and an investment property, the process itself (especially in this current market) of finding a house was extremely long and exhausting, but the pair never gave up on us and were always there no matter what day or time of the week it was to provide advice. When our offer was finally accepted for a home that we loved, we thought the hard part was over. Little did we know, it was just about to get even more bumpy. The anxiety and anticipation of waiting for an approval was made ten times easier all thanks to David, Jules, Rikki and Karley. We never felt out of the loop, we always felt supported, and they were available to chat 24/7 if anything unexpected popped up. Honestly, if it wasn't for their team we would have felt so lost throughout what is a tedious process. Where do I start with this team It all began almost a year ago when we reached out to David to see if we were on the right path of savings for our future home. David was there throughout the entire process telling us the best way to move forward to ensure we had a 20 deposit. We were braver this time around and realised that bank loyalty had cost us A LOT of money.
