European settlement began in the early 19th century, with Horsley Park originally forming part of Colonel George Johnston's extensive "Kings Gift" property. The Indian colonial style homestead built by Major George Nicholas Weston, who named it "Horsley" after his birthplace in Surrey, England, stands as a testament to our historical roots. Today, Horsley Homestead is one of the few remaining early colonial buildings in the Fairfield district, protected by The Australian Heritage National Trust.
Horsley Park is not only steeped in history but also boasts a vibrant Italian and Maltese heritage. Our community takes great pride in our cultural diversity, which enriches the fabric of our daily lives. It is also worth mentioning that Horsley Park was the original location for the formation of Club Marconi, a testament to our community's spirit and sense of belonging.
