A franchise owner for Australia's largest independently-owned mortgage broker, Mortgage Choice, has just received one of the top franchise industry honours - the national Franchise Woman of the Yearaward at the 2011 Franchise Council of Australia's Excellence in Franchising awards.

Belinda Sugars from Mortgage Choice in Myrtle Bank, South Australia, won the award at Tuesday night's gala event for her personal and professional achievements in the franchising sector.

Mortgage Choice CEO Michael Russell said, "We are pleased to see Belinda's efforts recognised by the franchising industry's major national awards."

"She has a tremendously positive influence on other women in this sector as well as the mortgage broking industry, our network, and her local community. Her optimism, determination, leadership skills and resulting business achievements are an inspiration to so many - male and female.
