An investment interest rate applies to all home loans that are secured by an investment property. Investment interest rates may be higher than owner occupied home loans as investors can have a higher perceived risk than borrowers who plan to live in their property.
Like with owner occupied home loans, for an investment loan you will ideally need a deposit of 20%. If you have a deposit of under 20% then you may still be eligible for an investment loan, however, you may be required to pay Lenders’ Mortgage Insurance (LMI).
